![]() Emilio Rubio joined HBO Latin America Group for a second time in 1999 and is a member of the Executive Committee, the primary decision-making body which sets the strategies for HBO LAG management. As President of Distribution and Media Development, Emilio has been responsible for the distribution of the 13 channels within the organization in the territory (HBO, HBO2, HBO Plus, HBO Family, Cinemax, Max Prime, WBTV, SET, A & E, E! Entertainment, History Channel, AXN and Animax). He has also been responsible for all HBO LAG’s regional offices in Latin America (Mexico, Brazil, Argentina & Venezuela) as well as Public Relations, Consumer Marketing, Affiliate Marketing, New Business Development, Interactive Services, and Research Departments. In recent years, Emilio's division has led the launch of 6 new channels in Latin America (HBO Family, MAX Prime, Disney Channel, Jetix, History Channel and Animax) along with the integration of Brazil’s operations with the rest of the region. Emilio came to HBO with extensive management experience in the Pay TV Industry in Iberoamerica and the US Hispanic Market. Before joining HBO Latin America, he was Senior Vice President of Cisneros Television Group where they launched, acquired, and distributed 8 channels (Space, ISat, Uniseries, Infinito, Much Music, HTV, Venus, Playboy and Locomotion) in joint ventures with Cisneros Group of Companies, Playboy Enterprises, Iberoamerica Media Partners and Hearts Entertainment. Prior to assuming his role at Cisneros Television Group in 1997, Emilio served as a Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing for HBO Latin America for five years. During his first tenure in HBO, the company launched 5 channels in Latin America and Brazil (HBO, Cinemax, WBTV, SET and E! Entertainment) in joint ventures with Time Warner, Ole Communications, Sony Pictures, The Walt Disney Company, A & E and E Enterprises. Before joining HBO, Emilio worked in the seafood industry in Venezuela where he acted as Managing Director for Industria Pesquera Belamar, S.A. He is a member of the board of TAP Latin America (Latin America Programming Television Association) since the year 2000. Emilio was born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1961 and has lived in Miami, FL since 1997 with his wife and two daughters. |
